Cantilever Racking - Coventry

As part of their rapid business growth, our client relocated to a significantly larger premises within the same region to accommodate increased stock volumes and streamline operations. Their inventory, long-profile timber, required a storage system that offered both strength and accessibility. Cantilever racking was the ideal solution for this product type, and we were trusted to deliver a full racking setup through a carefully planned, multi-phase project.

The Challenge

The project required careful timing and coordination to avoid any disruption to the client’s operations. Since they needed to remain operational during the move, the racking installation had to be completed in stages that aligned with the stock relocation. Additionally, the relocation involved dismantling and reusing a significant amount of racking from the original site, which added logistical complexity. Ensuring all materials were safely dismantled, transported, and reinstalled without damage or delay was essential to keeping the project on track.

The Solution

We delivered the project in three key phases. First, we installed a mix of new and quality used cantilever racking at the new site, providing immediate storage capacity so the client could begin transferring stock and operating from the new location. Once the original site was cleared, we dismantled, palletised, and banded the old racking—ready for transport, which the client arranged. In the final phase, we reinstalled this racking at the new premises and also added A-frame vertical racking, offering versatile storage for profiles, pipes, and other long materials. The phased approach ensured minimal disruption and maximum efficiency throughout the relocation.
