Six Hills Heavy Duty Racking

A bespoke tile manufacturer and importer tasked Storage Concepts to transform one of their empty storage units into a two-phase, staged pallet racking installation. The goal was to increase capacity for palletised tile stock, ensuring efficient storage ahead of order processing and cutting.
Following detailed on-site consultations and multiple design iterations, we delivered a tailored racking solution that met the client’s specific operational requirements, budget, and the need to support heavy-duty pallet loads. The result is a robust, flexible storage system that supports their growing inventory and streamlines order fulfillment.

The Challenge
The client required a heavy-duty pallet racking system capable of supporting pallet loads of up to 3,800kg UDL per beam level, while working within a tight operational footprint to accommodate their new forklift truck.
Additionally, the project needed to be completed under a strict deadline to ensure the racking was fully operational ahead of an incoming pallet delivery from Europe. All design and installation work also had to align with the client’s Health & Safety standards, including the integration of impact protection and safe manual handling considerations.

The Solution
Storage Concepts collaborated closely with the client to design and install a tailored racking system that met all structural and spatial requirements. The solution included heavy-duty storage levels, picking levels, mesh decking for enhanced load security, and column guards to protect high-risk areas.
The system was installed efficiently and on time, ensuring full operational readiness for the incoming delivery. By working within a secure, sectioned-off installation area, we allowed the client's operations to continue uninterrupted while delivering a safe, compliant, and high-capacity storage solution.
